here is a quote from Henri Nowen for you too...we can all use alittle more Nowen...it's like cow bell.
"As those who are chosen, blessed, broken, and given, we are called to live our lives with a deep inner joy nad peace. It is the life of the Beloved, lived in a world constantly trying to convince us that the burden is on us to prove that we are worthy of being loved."
I've decided that, rather than starting a new post for each day, I'll just do one post per week and update it as I go. So here is my prayer for today from Praying God's Word:
O Lord, beause You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. -Psalm 63:7-8
Hey Kim did you know that the last 2 weeks at church Mike Breux quoted Beth Moore? Ya, he did, it's true!
Anyhoo, I heard about the uh...er...thing that happened today. SO weird I hope you're OK??? Feel free to sit with me and Scott anytime, I’ll even sit in the Mez with ya!
Oh and my table and rug look FABULOUS (thanks for asking)!! If my camera wasn't lost I would post about it.
One more thing, I see why the Family Guy would make you mad!! I was mad after watching an episode or 2 or 3 on Scott's sweet iPod last night. GRRRRRRR....
Oh and another thing...Scott and I are going to try and get a post up tonight about Emily. After that I am going to post my Beth Moore stuff. I didn't think I would because I have hundreds of people I want to e-mail but I think it will be therapeutic and I want to feel like part of our small group. It just may take me a while to get er done.
Hi Diamond, it's great! I hear her book Breaking Free is really good too, that's the next one I want to read.
Thanks Crystal, everybody is promising to sit with me at church from now on - I feel pretty special! Honestly, the time I sat behind the guy who picked skin off his leg until it started bleeding was more disturbing, but, just to be safe, I don't think I'll sit by myself any time soon (unless I'm in the family cafe.)
Keeping up with small group could be healthy right now but if you get too overwhelmed by everything going on, or if Thursday doesn't work, just let us know!
Okay, prayer of the day time! I couldn't pick just one today...
God, You say to me, "I, even I, am He who comforts you." Thank you Lord. Help me to sense and respond to Your comfort. -Isa 51:12
You, the Lord of God, are with me. You are mighty to save! You will take great delight in me, You will quiet me with Your love, You will rejoice over me with singing.
-Zeph 3:17
I think that second one is especially beautiful. It's a very maternal image for God.
O God, please set my heart at rest in your presence when my heart wants to condemn me. For you, God, are greater than my heart, and you know everything. -1 John 3:19-20
Though you, Lord, are on high, You look on the lowly, but the proud you know from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch your hand against the anger of my foes, with Your right hand You save me. You, Lord, will fulfill your purpose for me; Your love, O Lord, endures forever - do not abandon the works of Your hands. Psalm 138:6-8
