Easy apple dessert for lazy people with limited skills.
Ingredients for the first part (apple part):
- 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (about 5 or 6 apples.)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Ingredients for second part (topping):
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed bown sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup oats (optional)
Bake at 375 F for 40 minutes. Remove foil. Bake for 20 minutes until apples tender and filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.
Crispy on top, warm and gooey on the inside, Ross and I love this stuff! We've made it three times this month! Added bonus, it makes your house smell better than any scented candle ever could :P

Dang but that sounds good, wish I could come share it.
My friend Jami gave me her super yummy Apple Crisp recipe (pretty much the same as yours) and it's my very most favorite dessert! I LOVE Apple Crisp!!
I think I'll make some after our next shopping trip! I'm out of apples. My kids are apple-alcoholics.
Oh and you are so right, it is the best smell in the world. Jami also told me to cook the apple peal in a little water (I think) with some cinnamon over the stove keep the smell going.
Hey since you're enjoying cooking so much I wanted to share with you one of my favorite recipes!
This is Scott's Grandmother's recipe, it's soooooo good and we often eat it at Christmas.

It's really quick and easy to make and it's a great dish to make for someone and just bring over for them to bake.
It's also good to make the night before a party or for company so there isn't any cooking to do on party/company day!!
Love,

Thanks for the recipe Crystal, sounds yummy!
