7 Months Old!
- Remy is a tall baby, in the 90th percentile for his age.
- He doesn't know how to crawl yet, but he loves to shoot out from a sitting position onto his belly. This is a good way to bonk your face on the floor, but he doesn't care.
- He still loves taking baths and has gotten really good at snatching up his rubber ducky as it floats by.
- He is eating solids now. Some days he is a champ at it, other days he spits every bite out.
- When he is feeling melancholy he cups the back of his head with his hand.
- He has giant feet and he rubs them together like a cricket when he is restless.
- He has started to get better at his vowel sounds, but hasn't started using any words yet.
- He is still sleeping in his pack 'n play in our bedroom (and, invariably, in our bed) but next month he moves to his own bedroom.
- He is good baby, but he is not a quite baby.
- The sight of his Daddy across a room sends him into paroxysms of joy. I am usually injured in some way when this happens.

Wow 7 months already!? That is crazy! He seriously is so cute Kim, just so stinkin cute! How can you stand it?!
It makes me feel so much better knowing he sleeps with you sometimes, I love to have Luke sleep with us, but I keep having people tell me what a HUGE mistake that is, he never really sleeps in there all night, but he is so sweet to cuddle with, I never thought I would be a mom to let my baby sleep in the bed, yet here I am, I just can't help but give in to his sweet little face!
Good luck with getting him into his own room next month! I can't imagine doing that yet...they just grow up in a blink of an eye!
Jacqui, I was so psyched about Babywise when I was pregnant. There are so many unknowns at that time and it is comforting to have a plan. I still agree with it in principle, but for these early months you just have to do what works for you!
Maybe I'll regret it all when we transition to his bedroom next month though, lol! I'll let you know how it goes!
We have had Karis in her room for a couple of months at least. But, Jen gets up every couple of hours and peeks in. I used to occasionally, but I am too much of a big oaf and she says that I wake Karis up.
Our big sleeping goal for the near future is breaking her out of her swaddler to sleep. We thought about it last week, but with relatives visiting soon it is counterproductive.
Have you found a new church home in Vegas?
Clint, we are in the same boat with the waiting thing. I am really ready for the transition but it just doesn't seem worth it with all the holiday madness - we were in IL for 5 days last month and it totally threw off his schedule, so I am sure that any progress we made would be undone by our trip to NC at the end of the month. In January it is on though! Good luck with to you guys!
We have found a great church! It was recommended to us by my friend Sara who used to live in Las Vegas. It's called Canyon Ridge Christian Church and it is very similar to Willow. In fact, Mike Breaux, who was a pastor at Willow, was the senior pastor at Canyon Ridge before that.
