What's Up

Hi all! Not a whole lot going on but I'll give an update anyway!
  • Remy will be 6 months old in about 2 weeks. That means it is time to go through his closet and start switching out clothes. So thankful for gifts and hand-me-downs from neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers...we've barely had to buy any clothes for the little guy!
  • It turns out we will be going to Raleigh for Christmas. I was kind of excited to have baby's first Christmas at home, but this is cool too. Ross's parents' home is a lovely and relaxing place to be for the holidays, and this way more people will get to meet little Remy!
  • Fall has finally reached Las Vegas. Well, relatively speaking. Yesterday the weatherman said it would be a "cool 72." I don't think a Chicago weatherman would have put it that way.
  • Now that the weather is not so stifling, I've decided to start walking. It's tricky, though, because sidewalks are not very reliable out here. You will set off along what looks like a perfectly legitimate sidewalk, go about half a block, and it will just disintegrate into dust and rocks. This is very inconvenient when pushing a stroller. Wandering around the apartment complex works though, and the views are surprisingly good.
  • Remy is now going to the nursery during church services. For some reason that feels like a big deal to me. It has gone really well, if you don't count the "TERRIBLE gas" we were told he experienced last time. :P

I wish we still had our 72 weather! As you know Chicago weather changes in a split second!! Yesterday morning it was warm and then by the time I picked up Maddie at 11:30 it was freezing!! So crazy! It's supposed to be 60 today but it sure doesn't feel like it to me. I blame my Hashimoto. =)

Do you have a baby-jogger? I think that would help you out a TON with walking on crazy disappearing sidewalks. =) For real, you can push those bad boys around on anything!! I was just looking for a double baby jogger on Craigslist because I need one now that I'm baby-sitting. I'd like to walk the kids to the park but with two 3 year olds, a 5 year old, and a 6 year old, I'd like to have a stroller for the little ones and then the big kids could also take turns when they start whining about their limps falling off, haha!

I'm so glad you are still blogging so I can get updates on your and Remy and see pictures of the little guy!

Love you!!

Oh, a baby jogger sounds awesome! Will have to do some online research! Did you find any good ones on Craigslist?

Ok, looked up jogging strollers...WTH? Those things are expensive!

Yep, I know!! The one I have is a hand-me-down from Katie. I did find a double jogger on Craigslist for 80.00. It was really nice, but 80.00 for me right now is like 800.00. =P They really are worth it though. Katie is still using hers and Noah is going to be 9 next week!! She uses it to run in the mornings.

Just keep looking around until you find a good deal. =)))

Wait, what? I'm confused! Who does Katie push in the stroller?

Ha, ha, Crystal you crack me up! "Limbs falling off" LOL'z.

Kim reading your posts about Vegas, makes me totally think back to my first year there. This winter won't be so cold for you. Because 60 degrees is pretty warm still. But your blood adjusts to the 120 degrees fast and next winter, you'll be wearing a parka in 60 degree weather with the rest of them ;)~

Do you see snow on the mountain tops yet? That is the most beautiful sight ever! To walk outside, see the snow, but not have to deal with it!!

Hi Sara! I am so excited about a mild winter! I can see how you would adjust over time. The other morning I walked out onto the balcony with the baby and said "oh,it's chilly, let's go back inside" and it was 70!

It's supposed to be in the 80s most of this week - yay!

There was snow on Mt. Charleston the other day but I think it has since melted. Can't wait to see more!
